you go, one day, to your neighborhood coffeehouse and get yourself a cup of coffee.

"hi there!" you’ll have it for here?" the barista asks. "yup, for here." you say.

you plan to see what can happen on a day like today when you just sit still and let sweet time pass you by.

unlikely to you to do such thing? you bet. you bet your friends will too.

in a while the barista calls out "for-here-tall-almond-non-fat-extra-hot-caramel-macchiato-for..." you grin; you feel like awarding him for knowing it and saying it perfectly. then you get your drink and look for a spot. ah... lucky day. the corner with two couches is empty. its now your hook. and then you settle in.

nothing is really on your mind its just that, suddenly, you get the urge to try something different. something you normally wouldnt do. yeah, you got so used to being around your friends. and now youre all alone with just your coffee keeping you company. then you lean back and sip your cup of caramel macchiato.

as i light a cigarette, i cant help but thinking why do i smoke? it doesnt do me any good, i know. it burns my lips, hurt my eyes, and as i inhale its dark smoke, it brings great pain to my chest and takes me to a state of my mind where loneliness and emptiness resides. as i throw its butt, sometimes i promised myself that i would never again light another stick. yet its scent haunts me. what the hell! i took out a stick and realized im already hooked.
